developing smart solutions
to overcome communication obstacles
with hearing impaired people

We develop smart solutions on mobile devices for the easy and smooth communication of sensory people with deaf and hard of hearing people. The ZUMOone team has expertise in several technical fields, which we have joined and used to develop a mobile application that solves everyday problems in communicating with both the deaf and hard of hearing people.

We organize sports and cultural camps as well as other similar events in the Slovenian area with international participation. We bring together the deaf and the hard of hearing in a pleasant and social environment.

Projects

International Signs

The mobile application, International Signs, has been developed in response to a desire to overcome communication barriers among deaf members of different nationalities along with a desire for simple communication.

The application is the result of cooperation between TIPK d.o.o. (one of the leading media companies in the television field with the mission of informing the deaf in Slovenia) and ZUMOONE.

It helps its users to communicate with the deaf from different countries, as IS is a universal international language of the deaf, established due to the needs of the deaf, who, when attending a number of seminars, conferences, sports and other events and meetings, always wanted to communicate somehow.

Gestures in the international language represent a universal language, which is widely accepted in everyday use, but is not standardized! We have to warn our users that the language is alive, thus over time it also changes and evolves, so certain gestures may no longer be in use.

The application is intended for beginners who are interested in sign language and would like to learn it.

We hope that the acquired new knowledge of international signs will help you establish contacts with deaf people all over the world more quickly and that it will make it easier for you to communicate online as well as in person.

The application is the result of cooperation between TIPK d.o.o. (one of the leading media companies in the television field with the mission of informing the deaf in Slovenia) and ZUMOONE, a company for advanced visual communication and other services and a limited liability company aiming to popularize home sign language, which is beautiful, interesting and offers the new experience of getting to know a different world - the world of silence - and the culture of the deaf.

The Znakovnik

The ZNAKOVNIK (Deaf Gestures Glossary) mobile application is a response to the desire to overcome communication barriers between deaf members of a mother tongue as well as a response to the desire for easy communication. The application is intended for beginners who are interested in sign language and would like to learn it as well as for anyone who would like to refresh or upgrade their skills.

It is also intended for the deaf and hard of hearing users of sign language so that they might enrich and broaden their knowledge of gestures.

Never say never - you may one day become a sign language interpreter by using this application.

Of course, the best way to learn is to utilize your newly acquired knowledge to communicate with the deaf. The application will be upgraded and will grow over time. With the purchase of the application, you will be able to access a variety of content that will assist you in the learning process. The content will be designed to cover a variety of everyday situations: at school, at the bank, at the doctor, at the driving school, at the store, communicating with deaf colleagues, deaf students and others, dialogues, question words, computing concepts and the like. All content will be presented in sign language by its users, deaf people, which is especially valuable.

The application is the result of collaboration between ZGN Ljubljana, a School for the Deaf (Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing), and TIPK d.o.o., which aims at popularizing sign language, as it is positive, interesting and offers one the new experience of getting to know a different world, a world of silence, and the culture of the deaf.

Gain knowledge of Slovenian sign language and make contact with the deaf and hard of hearing in Slovenia more quickly and easily. Collection 1 is free of charge with more information at www.znakovnik.si

Basketball Camp Miha Zupan 2016 will soon come to life

We are launching first ever Miha Zupan Basketball Camp from the 3rd until 9th of July 2016 for boys and girls between the age of 8 and 17 years. Camp will be led by world famous professional deaf basketball player Miha Zupan, who currently plays in Romania for the team called CSM Oradea.

"For a very long time I had an idea of organizing a basketball camp. Throughout my basketball career in Slovenia and abroad I saw and attended different camps. However, there has never been a camp lead by a deaf person with a knowledge of professional basketball. Moreover, I would like to offer a fun and learning experience of sign language. There hasn’t been anything similar around the world therefore I believe it is the right time to do this now. I believe in my team and our set goals. Last but not least I would like to transfer my knowledge to our young generations and inspire them not just for basketball but also for a healthy lifestyle. Basketball gave to me more than I expected. I defeated many hurdles along the path. I guarantee you, you will get to know me better and that you will not just practice basketball but also have a lot of fun.

I am sure that our time spent together will go by fast and I would be honored and happy if you join me at the camp. Miha Zupan."

»Being disabled and operating in the business world is a challenge. With over 20 years of work experience, the company's partner and me embarked on an independent career path. I am not afraid of hard work. I believe that our joint ideas and solutions and the enthusiastic team will contribute more every day to the well-being of the deaf community, which we know is one of the most vulnerable groups of people with disabilities. I liked being involved in sports, especially skiing and volleyball. I was a national champion in volleyball among the deaf for five years in a row. Now I only play from time to time, as I am completely devoted to my three children. Currently, however, I am dedicated, with all my heart, to my work and my own independent career path.«
